Cheers to Beers: The Best Gifts to Give the Beer Lover in Your Life

July 14, 2019

I You’ve got a beer lover in your life, and you’re looking to buy them a gift. That’s all well and good, but with the sheer amount of beer related products out there, it can be daunting to find the right one.

You want something they don’t already have, and it has to be something that matches their personality and vibe.

That’s why we put together this guide to the best gifts out there for the beer lover. It has gifts of a variety of stalls, all tailored to the person in your who loves to sip a fresh beer.

So you won’t have to go scouring the internet and scrolling from page to page trying to find the right beer-related gift.

Sound interesting? Keep reading to find out more!

Beer Can Map

Let’s start off with a gift that thinks outside the box but inside the country. You guessed it, it’s a beer cap map!

There are several iterations of this cool looking map, where you can insert bottle caps directly into the piece.

Pick a map of the United States, and your beer lover can slowly fill it up with bottle caps from beers they’ve had all over the country.

Maybe it becomes a map of places they’ve traveled to and had a beer at. Or maybe it’s simply the beers they’ve tasted in their home town that are from all over the states.

Other iterations are maps of foreign countries or individual states.

The Bottle Loft

We all know that fridge space is at a premium for beer lovers. They want to be able to stock their fridge with all the beers they are looking to drink, but need to leave room for other essentials.

Solution: The Bottle Loft from Uncommon Goods. They are magnetized strips that attach to the upper surface of the inside of your fridge.

On the underside of each strip are magnetized circles the shape of a bottle cap. So you can stick a bottle of beer directly to them, where they will then hover on the upper surface of the fridge.

That way, there’s still plenty of shelf space below them for other items that need keeping cold. It’s a great way to keep more beers in the fridge without having to sacrifice the other fridge essentials.

Your beer lover will be forever grateful!

BRÖÖ Craft Beer Shampoo and Conditioner

Now this is a gift we highly doubt the beer lover in your life already has.

As long as they resist the temptation to drink it, they’ll love this shampoo and conditioner from BRÖÖ.

It works because barley (an ingredient in beer) has a lot of B vitamins and other proteins. Those are some of the same vitamins and proteins that are found in shampoos and conditioners to make your hair lustrous and shiny.

And you’ll be glad to know that neither the shampoo nor the conditioner actually smells like beer. We can’t imagine anyone wanting to smell like they just dunked their head into a brewery’s tank.

They are mint-scented and delightful. So your beer lover will get to have well-kept hair, smell great, and enjoy the fact that they are getting to do it with shampoo and conditioner crafted in part from beer!

Personalized Beer Opener

We’ve all seen those openers that are attached to walls or the sides of a bar where you slide your bottle in and pull down.

But have you seen a fully personalized opener with a wood carved cap catcher on the bottom?

A custom beer opener and cap catcher from MV Woodworks will make any man cave, bar area or kitchen wall feel like a beer lover’s haven.

You can customize it with their first or last name engraved right into the wood. And they are designed to be free standing or hung on the wall.

It’s a great gift that not only has function but a cool design as well.

Beer-Infused BBQ Sauce

Why not integrate beer with food for your beer lover? Uncommon Goods sells a set of BBQ sauces that are all beer infused.

There are three flavors: Thai Style Sriracha, Honey Mustard, and Sweet & Smokey.

But in addition to those primary flavors, each bottle of sauce features an infused with a different style of beer from Jackie O’s Pub & Brewery in Athens, Ohio. They use an amber, an IPA, and a porter.

So your beer lover will be able to fire up the grill and enjoy a cold one while they make some barbequed food that will feature the taste of beer-infused BBQ sauce. It’s a win-win.

Beer Pop Chart

Let your beer lover nerd out on beer styles and origins with this cool looking poster.

It’s chock full of text bubbles that give a breakdown of virtually every beer style on the planet.

There are 89 types of beer represented on the poster, with a breakdown of details about the beer’s history, connection to other beers, and ideal drinking glass.

Over 200 brands are also represented on the poster, so your beer lover can read all about which brands they love, or seek out some new ones to try.

It’s a great addition to any beer drinkers wall because it not only is informative, it has an ultra cool design as well.

Home Brew Journal

For some beer lovers, it’s more about getting a gift of a beer basket, drinking their favorite ale and calling it a day. But others take their passion to the next level and brew at home.

For those people, a homebrew journal is an ideal gift. This journal has been designed for people brewing at home who need a place to keep tabs on all of their batches and the outcomes.

There’s a section for tasting notes, as well as built-in reference charts and space for more than 70 recipes.

Perfect Gifts for the Beer Lover

This list will hopefully get you well on your way towards making the beer lover in your life feel happy and appreciated.

Planning Your Trip to Japan

July 12, 2019

A pile of snow

Description automatically generated

Travel broadens the mind, expands the senses, and fills your heart with joy. It can also be a little terrifying, particularly if you are adventuring off to a country which has a very different language and culture to the one you know.

English speaking travelers often want to travel because they want to experience the ‘realness’ of another country, to enjoy the culture and to hear a different language.

Yet, at the same time, there is a desire to not stretch too far outside your comfort zone.

Don’t Travel Alone To Japan

The last thing you want is to be in a strange country trying to communicate with someone that you are lost, sick or in trouble, when there is a language barrier. Not only are you getting to experience the real Japan, but you are doing so in a safe and secure environment. You can adventure as far as your confidence and Google Translate will allow, but you can regroup under the security of a travel guide who understands your language and culture.

Not only do you have that extra security, but it is really nice to be able to share your experiences with someone who is just is amazed as you are. The food, the sights, the sounds, the people, being able to sit down at the end of a busy day travelling and just talk about the wonderful experiences you’ve had that day, with people that understand why you might find certain things amazing, really helps make visiting a new country.

Planning Your Japanese Adventure

One of the most amazing things about Japan, in an endless list of amazing things, is just how much it can change from season to season. So, when you are planning your trip, this is one thing that you should take into consideration – what will be happening at the time you visit?

Two of the most popular festivals are the Winter Festivals, generally around January and February, or the Cherry Blossom festivals that happen around March to April.

Each area of Japan has different attractions, and different events happening which celebrate the seasons. Thankfully, because tour operators know this, they will generally offer specific group tours that will allow you to get the experiences you most desire. This is why tours like https://alljapantours.com are popular.

However, if you find that you want to do something quite unique, or at a different time, most companies will also be quite happy to arrange a private tour package. You may find that you are not the only person who would enjoy the itinerary you envision, so may even be able to get enough people to get a good discount on the whole trip.

Winter Festivals Or Cherry Blossom Season?

Throughout most of Japan you will find Sakura festivals, celebrating the first blooming of the Cherry Blossoms. However, the actual timing can, and does, vary from year to year and from region to region. So, part of the decision you have to make is where you want to explore while you are in Japan, as this will have a large bearing on whether you will be in time to see the Cherry blossoms.

With the winter festivals the most famous is the Sapporo Snow Festival (さっぽろ雪まつり), bringing millions of people in to see hundreds of snow statues and ice sculptures. While the Asahikawa Winter Festival (旭川冬まつり) is also well attended, as it is usually scheduled just after the Sapporo event, and includes ice sculptures that are illuminated at night as well as fireworks displays. While not strictly a festival as such, the light-up event of the Icicles of Misotsuchi (三十槌の氷柱) is a sensational display that really puts Japans natural beauty on display. It is also not too far from Tokyo so makes it quite easy to add it to your schedule for a quick visit.

Do I Need To Know The Language?

It comes as a surprise to many English speakers, but not everyone in the world understands English. In the main centers of Japan, you are likely to find people who do understand and can speak a little English, while if you stay in more popular tourist spots you will generally find someone who can understand and converse with you. However, if you are with a tour, your guide will be able to assist with any translations you require.

Cryptocurrencies for Slot Deposits?

July 12, 2019

The rise of cryptocurrencies is one of the most intriguing advancements to be made in the 21st Century. In short, they are a digital form of currency that can be used in regular transactions much like conventional currencies. The difference is that they have no true physicality and are actually very elaborate strings of computer code. There are, in present day 2019, a variety of different cryptocurrencies that include the following:

  • Bitcoin
  • Bitcoin Cash
  • Ethereum
  • Ripple

This list is not exhaustive, but you get the general idea. Now, cryptocurrencies were for a while associated with the “Dark Web” and criminal activity due to their anonymity and impossibility to track, however in recent years they have become more and more established in traditional circles. Whilst there are still worries about their longevity (the value of something like Bitcoin can fluctuate massively) an increasing number of industries are beginning to accept them. All this leads to the question, could crytocurrencies be accepted as a deposit payment at slot sites such as this one? Well, let’s find out shall we.

But Why Would It as my chosen payment?

First off, many online gamblers will be scratching their heads here. Why on earth would I use crytocurrencies when I’m fine using traditional deposit methods? There are a few reasons to take into account here, let’s have a look:

  • Anonymity: Crytocurrencies offer a huge amount of anonymity when making or withdrawing money from online casino sites. A massive amount more than the regular bank transactions that are liable to government tracking. When you deposit using Bitcoin, for instance, there is absolutely no names involved, or email addresses. It is all completely anonymous, nobody can look through your bank statements and learn of your gambling habits.
  • Security: Crytocurrencies also offer an enhanced security – when you make a transaction the blockchain security protocols make it pretty much impossible for anyone to steal your money. The same cannot be said for regular bank transfers that are always liable to thievery.
  • Fees: One of the most attractive benefits of making your deposits using cryptocurrencies is that this method results in the lowest possible transaction fees. More money for the reels eh? Very nice indeed.
  • Rapid Transactions: Traditional deposit methods are near instant anyway, but when you go to withdraw your hard earned winnings it can often take a few days. Not the case with cryptocurrencies where this is also instantaneous.

Will They Be Accepted?

Now here’s the million-dollar question. You know of the benefits, but could crytocurrencies be accepted as a deposit payment for slots? Well the short answer is that there are already some online casinos that accept this method, for instance Bitcoin Dice and Ethereum Gambling.

There is only a small amount available however, and the chances of cryptocurrency deposits being possible in every online casino site are fairly slim at the moment. This being said, once the stigma around crypto is properly solved and governments look at it with more trust we could see a huge rise in crytocurrencies being accepted as a deposit payment for slots.

How to Start Boating

July 11, 2019

Boating is an exciting past time that almost anyone can participate in and enjoy. It’s a fun-filled, stress-reducing, outdoor activity that can provide hours of entertainment and excitement. However, in order to have an enjoyable experience and reduce the risk of danger, it is essential that all boating newcomers familiarize themselves with some of the most important aspects of boating such as the types of boats, boating terminology, and safety tips.

Types of Boats

Image via Flickr by jdnx

There are many different types of boats, all of which can be broken down into dozens and dozens of categories.

First of all, all boats can generally be classified into three main types:

  • Motorboats – Engine-powered
  • Sailboats – Wind/sail-powered
  • Man-powered boats – Human-powered, such as kayaks

Three of the most popular boats for families and adventurers include:

Water Sports Boats

These boats are designed to be sleek, powerful and fast with enough speed and maneuverability to handle any type of water sport including wakeboarding, water skiing, and tubing.

Pontoons

These boats are usually flattish in shape and rely on tubes (pontoons) to float. These are commonly used on lakes and other small bodies of water and are ideal for cruising and fishing, Newer generations are powerful enough to pull water skiers and wake boarders.

Cabin Cruisers

Cabin cruisers are larger and more spacious than most small powerboats and can accommodate several passengers. They often have amenities such as sleeping quarters, a galley, and a head, making them ideal for cruising and extended trips.

Common Parts of Boats

Before you get a boat or even your boating license, it’s imperative you know the common parts of all boats. These include:

  • Bow – Front of a boat
  • Stern – Rear part of a boat
  • Port – Left side of the boat  (when facing forward)
  • Starboard –  Right side of a boat (when facing forward)
  • Transom – Stern cross-section of your boat
  • Cleat – A metal fitting to which a rope or line can be secured
  • Gunwale – Top edges of the sides of a boat

How to Stay Safe While Boating

Whether you are a beginning boater or a seasoned sailor, it’s important that you always follow the rules and regulations while on the water in order to stay safe. Some of these are common sense, while others are learned.

  1. Everyone on board should wear a life jacket.
  2. Carry safety equipment including a fire extinguisher, a tool kit, a first aid kit, a horn, and a working radio to call for help if needed.
  3. File a Float Plan that describes your boat, itinerary and passengers and leave with someone on shore in case of an emergency.
  4. Protect against propellor strikes –  ensure all passengers are accounted for before starting the engine, wear an emergency cut-off switch at all times, and keep people from swimming near it.
  5. Boat sober – never operate a boat while under the influence of alcohol or drugs.

Not much beats spending a day on the water in your new boat with friends and family! Just remember to familiarize yourself with boats in general, and always follows the rules and regulations.

Camping for Beginners: 7 Factors To Consider When Setting Up Your Campsite

July 10, 2019

You have been excited about your camping trip. You are prepared with all the essentials that you will need- first aid kit, the best survival knife and a navigation device. You even know how to set up a camp. However, one question still remains- Where should you set up the tent?

To a beginner, the entire forest can seem the same unless of course there is something very prominently distinctive about it. A seasoned camper will tell you that, in reality, each area of a forest is a bit distinctive and that there are many factors to consider.

Here are seven factors you need to pay consideration to when it comes to selecting and building a campsite:

1) Location

Know the locations of campsites along the trail of your choice. This can be done easily with a guidebook or with help from a ranger. Most camping areas also have a website dedicated to them where such information is available.

Check the availability and status of your preferred campsites. Some campsites are closed during some weather conditions or specific seasons. Similarly, popular campsites fill up fast as the camping season approaches. So, it is best to get in touch with a local ranger or authority aware of the campsite’s condition during your selected time period to avoid any last minute surprises.

Book your campsite in advance. While there is the possibility of getting the campground of your preference, it is always better to have a booking.

A bit of spontaneity does making a camping trip fun. However, you should research thoroughly about your campsite to know about the weather and common wildlife of the area. This will leave you more prepared for any situation you may face. You can be reasonably inhibited once you reach there.

2) Time

Create a timeline that consists of your arrival time to the campsite. It should be at least a few hours before sunset since you will also need to set up the tent and arrange firewood before resting a bit.

3) Water Source

Speaking of a water source, it should be one of the most critical factors on your mind when you select a campsite. You will need it to cook, clean and of course drink. A spot that is too far away will result in unnecessary exertion.

However, at least be a few 100 meters away from it since you don’t want to be a disturbance to the wildlife that frequents the water body. Also, avoid low spots and go for higher ground as low spots may collect water when the weather takes a toll.

4) Sunlight

In winters, look for an ample amount of sunlight on your campsite. For any other season, look for an appropriate amount of shade if you plan a basecamp for an entire day. The tent’s material tends to deteriorate over time in direct sunlight.

5) Other campers

Maintain an appropriate distance from other campers. It is understandable that you don’t want to be completely isolated from others and having people around will give you some comfort, especially at night. But do not overcrowd them! Choose a spot that offers both you and them enough space and a good view of the nature around you.

6) Sites that have already been used

Don’t go looking for a new area until necessary. As a beginner, it is better to set up camp in a previously occupied space. A lot is planned and already done for you; for example, the wilderness has been cleared. Moreover, the ground is flat, and there is a water source nearby.

7) Sites that have not been used yet

Another reason why you should look for previously camped areas is to reduce disturbance to flora and fauna around you. If you start to camp in a new spot, you clear an otherwise untouched area causing damage to it.

Your Crash Course to Balancing Spending Against Earnings

July 9, 2019

Are you spending too much? Do you think that it’s time you need to learn how to stop spending money?

There is a straightforward test that will give you a clear answer. Are you spending more than you are earning? If you’re not, you may be safe – for now. But if your outgoings are more than your incomings, you are on the road to financial ruin, and you need to stop spending, immediately.

One of the biggest culprits when it comes to overspending is the credit card. It may, at times, feel like your best friend, but use it too frequently, and it could easily turn out to be your worst enemy.

The thin end of the wedge

The problem with credit cards is that they seemingly allow people to buy things at a fraction of the price. Of course, that is not really true because if you only ever pay the minimum repayment when you receive your monthly bill, you will have to carry on paying the balance you owe month after month and pay interest on it too.

In the meantime, you can carry on making more purchases via the card. They, of course, increase the size of the overall debt and if you carry on only paying the minimum repayment each month, that debt will relentlessly grow larger. It is the thin end of the wedge.

The further you eat into that wedge, the thicker it becomes, and this is where the danger lies; especially if you are getting towards spending more than you’re earning. If you carry on in the same way, you may eventually have to pay out more money than you have coming in, and that will spell disaster.

Treat your credit card like a cash card

The best way to use a credit card is to treat it like a cash card. In other words, when the bill comes in you pay it off in full. If you go down this route, you’re using your card to ease your cash flow.

Like many (in fact the majority of) South Africans, you could find yourself in a situation where you spend your monthly earnings within five or six days of receiving them. According to Businesstech over 56% of middle income South African earners fall into this bracket.

Make a conscious decision to stop spending

If you do find that your spending has gotten out of control and you’ve crossed that earning versus spending threshold, you must stop spending straight away. Yes, that is easier than it might sound at first, but there will probably be many areas when you can limit your expenditure. Take a look at this list of helpful tips on how to stop spending, and you’ll see what we mean.

Deciding to stop spending on non-essential items is a big step to take. But once you have taken it, you will be on the way to controlling your finances. If you stick to your guns, you should find your debt steadily decreasing, and who knows? You may one day find yourself in a place where you have sufficient earnings left over at the end of the month to start a saving habit.

5 Things That Show Bitcoin Is Here to Stay

July 9, 2019

Even though bitcoin has been around for ten years, people still think of it as a novelty. There are numerous incorrect theories that circle the Internet, claiming that bitcoin is a bubble that is about to burst. However, that couldn’t be further from the truth, and there are many things we can use to prove it.

Bitcoin has numerous advantages compared to traditional currencies, which is why it is definitely here to stay. It is becoming more widely accepted worldwide, allowing consumers to buy products and services in a more secure way.

If you still have your doubts about this digital currency, read the rest of this article to find out why Bitcoin isn’t going anywhere.

Big Names Support Bitcoin

Numerous big names in the corporate world are supporting bitcoin and including it into their financial systems. Some of these include people such as John McAfee, Sonny Singh, Mike Novogratz, and even Elon Musk. As long as there are CEOs of such highly rated corporations who believe in bitcoin, there is absolutely nothing you should be worried about.

The fact that these huge corporations publicly stand behind bitcoin means they also have a lot of money invested in it. Of course, they would not do it unless they were almost 100% confident that their money will be completely safe.

Large Industries Accept Bitcoin

More and more huge industries accept bitcoin and allow transactions using this cryptocurrency. For example, one of these massive industries is the gambling industry. To put things into perspective, at the end of 2019, the global gambling market is expected to be worth almost $500 billion. That’s a lot of zeros.

The majority of online casinos and online sportsbooks allow bitcoin transactions nowadays. You can register and play bitcoin live dealer games in a matter of minutes if you have a wallet with a few digital tokens. This form of payment has numerous advantages online bettors enjoy. Most importantly, it provides them with safety and anonymity.

Bitcoin is Decentralized

Bitcoin is based on blockchain — a completely decentralized system. That means that no financial institutions have control over it or over the transactions. Therefore, it is incredibly difficult to intentionally cause the price of bitcoin to go up or down, as many conspiracy theories claim.

Since there are no banks or middle parties involved, that means you are the complete owner of your money and your transactions. This is a big advantage compared to fiat currencies which are a lot more susceptible to fluctuations and plummets.

This is one of the things that make bitcoin very attractive to both ordinary people and business people.

Bitcoin Has the Fastest Transactions

Compared to fiat currencies, bitcoin transactions are lightning fast. That’s why bitcoin is one of the best payment methods in existence right now. A lot of sources claim that bitcoin transactions are instantaneous, which is not really true. However, processing times of transactions done using this digital currency are usually 15 minutes long. Compare that to bank transactions that may take up to 3-4 days and you will understand why bitcoin is so popular.

With that in mind, we can conclude that bitcoin is just too good and too convenient to burst. People will continue to use it because of how much easier their lives are thanks to it. In the future, as the processing power of home computers increases, the processing times of bitcoin transactions will decrease.

Bitcoins Will Continue to Be Mined for More Than a Century

When Satoshi Nakamoto created bitcoin is 2009, he created a finite number of coins. That number is capped at 21 million and is expected to be mined sometime around 2140. Out of that number, 17 million have already been mined and circulating the market. As the number of bitcoins that can be mined decreases, the demand will rise, and the price will go up. Therefore, it is wise to invest in bitcoin as it has a bright future, no matter what anyone says.

As you can see, bitcoin will certainly stay relevant for at least another 120 years. But, after that, its price and its relevance are only going to increase once people realize that there is no other way to obtain bitcoins but to purchase them from someone who already owns them.

Backpacking Essentials to Keep You Exploring

July 8, 2019

Over the years, the general concept of travelling has completely evolved. Where people once believed that travelling was only for the skilled who had enough extra money to spend on the high fares and expensive hotels, today travelling is believed to be an essential for everyone. This is largely because people have come to believe that there are several benefits of going out to explore the world on your own.

Wanderlust and Backpacking

Moreover, the pleasure that people derive from just taking their time off to visit unknown places has an aura of its own. It becomes addictive once you begin to get the hang of it and you just cannot stop exploring. A phenomenon they call wanderlust. However, wanderlust also entails that you have enough resources to undertake your exploratory trips all the time.

However, the need to have excess resources was slowly diminished as people came up with cost-effective solutions for their travelling habits. Backpacking is by far the most cost-effective. The concept comes from that of minimalism and involves carrying only those belongings that you will absolutely need during your travel. Which means you take only a backpack full of belongings with you for your entire trip.

What You Must Pack

But since you are only taking a backpack full, it is essential that you pack smartly. Packing smartly is not as easy as it sounds. So, to make it easier for you, here are your backpacking essentials that you absolutely need for your backpacking trip:

A Tent

Since backpacking is all about avoiding unnecessary expenditures, it also means that you avoid spending on lavish hotels. What is the point of spending so much on accommodation if you are going to be out exploring all day, anyway? In fact, the most amazing places to explore have no hotels available for miles. This necessitates that you carry a tent with you. You can set this tent up on flat ground and have your sleep. You must ensure that you pick waterproof and lightweight tents for your trip.

Backpacking Stove and Spices

Minimalist or not, you have got to eat especially when it comes to travelling. For this, although you cannot carry a lot of food in your bag, but you can carry a small backpacking stove. Plus, if you are particular about the taste, also take with you a pack of organic spices. You can find amazing pure organic herbs and spices online and pack them to take with you.

Then when you do use your stove to cook, sprinkle these spices and you will have the taste of home-cooked food wherever you go.

Water bottles

You absolutely cannot go out exploring on your own without a water bottle. Where everything else on this list has to be as small as possible, your water bottle is an exception. This is because dehydration on a trip can be life-threatening and really get you down. For a water bottle, try to get a stainless steel bottle that can hold enough water for you and is convenient to fit in your bag.

Better To Leave The Dog at Home, or Take It With You on Your Next Adventure?

July 8, 2019

The bags are packed, the tickets are bought, and there’s only one question left before you can jet off on your next vacation: should you bring Fido?

Whether to leave your dog at home or bring them with you is a question dog guardians face every time they prepare for their vacations. If you’ve never travelled with a dog before, you might be worried about the possible hassle of having a dog on a trip. Can you bring your dog to a hotel? Will you want to deal with dog poop while sunning yourself on the beach?

On the other hand, you might be longing to have your fuzzy sidekick along for your adventure. This article will break down the pros and cons of each decision to help you made a good choice about whether Fido should take that spring break trip with you or stay at home.

If you’re wondering whether a hotel will even let you bring your dog, the good news is that many will. “Dog friendly” will typically be listed on their website. You will want to call and confirm restrictions and fees before booking. The bad news is, most hotels will charge extra when you bring a dog. Airbnb’s are frequently dog friendly. The listing should specify whether pets are allowed and you can message the host for further confirmation.

Never put yourself in a situation where you show up with a dog only to be rejected for lodging. Definitely never attempt to sneak a dog in! One stray bark from your dog could get you reported and tossed out of your accommodation. Dog friendly hotels are easy enough to find when you search in advance, but difficult to sort out at the last minute.

If you travel by plane, you’ll need a dog crate that is airline approved. Most will mention whether they are airline approved on the box. Every airline has their own restrictions on dogs. As long as your dog is under twenty pounds, most will let the dog onto the airplane with you.

Trying to eat out with a dog is a huge con. Indoor sit down places will not allow dogs. If your destination has plenty of outdoor restaurants, you’re in luck! Many places with outdoor seating will let you sit outside with your dog, and many will even bring your dog their own bowl of water.

Before you let these cons discourage you, remember that there are also plenty of pros. Your dog will love getting to check out new smells and go on fun walks in an exotic destination. You will get the benefit of having your fuzzy friend with you to hang out and snuggle.

Best of all, you’ll get to strengthen the bond you have with your dog through shared experiences. Dog training has even been shown to be more effective when practiced in a variety of locations, so this is a great opportunity to break out the treats and make sure Fido has “stay” down to an art.

Dogs help lower stress, which can be a great benefit when going through the frustration of traveling. You won’t need to worry how your four-legged best friend is doing at home, because they’ll be right beside you, giving you kisses and reminding you how to live in the moment for your entire vacation.

There are cons to leaving your dog behind as well. You will need to either find a pet sitter or board your dog, which is likely to be significantly more expensive than a hotel pet fee.

You’ll also have the added worry of wondering if your dog is being well enough cared for, which could put a damper on your trip. Horror stories of dogs getting lost or injured while their owners are away from home are extremely upsetting. Some dog guardians refuse to travel at all for fear of leaving their dog. Instead of locking themselves into one place, they could bring their dog with them to new places.

The pros of leaving your fluffy best friend at home are that you won’t need to manage your dog while on vacation. Your dog might also not like being away from home. While dogs are instinctively nomadic, they are also individuals. Not all dogs love a good vacation.

The decision of whether or not to leave your dog behind is a difficult one, but hopefully with this new information you will be able to decide what is best for you and your dog.

Is it really difficult to deliver a baby who lies face up or sunny side up?

July 4, 2019

There are a number of myths that surrounds pregnancy and most of them sound close to the truth that most women believe them till date. One of the most common myths is that, if the baby is in occiput posterior position that is, the baby is bottom up but faces forward, then the birth will be difficult.

But this myth is wrong, for women who are in the early stages of labour. Most of the babies are in the occiput posterior position before the labour begins. But, as soon as the mother starts to get contractions, the uterus starts to push the baby down the birth canal. The baby gets forced down by both the contractions and also the by the shape of the birth canal so as to push the baby to the natural birth position.

Face up position results in Back Pain:

Another myth about a baby born face up is that back pain is the sign of the baby who is on occiput posterior position.

This baby born face up myth is not true and truth is that back pain is common in labour and some women who are most likely to experience more back pain are

  • Short-statured women
  • Women who remained sedentary in the antepartum period
  • Women who have weak back muscles

Women with the foetus in the OP position do not report back pain when there is 3-4 cm dilatation. Back pain with all position of the foetus occurs between 4 and 6 cm dilatation. Back pain is associated with the fit of the baby and not its position. In fact, some of the babies in a posterior position fit their pelvis of their mother better than others.

What is the meaning of baby in posterior position?

When the baby lies down in head down position and not facing the abdomen then it is said to be in occiput position or the posterior position. This refers to the fact that the back of the baby’s skull is in the back of the pelvis of the mother. It is also referred to as face up or sunny side up. The probability of the baby lying in this position depends on how close the mother is to the delivery. Most of the babies are posterior at the beginning of labour. More than half of the babies lie posterior when the labour starts and turn to the normal position when delivery occurs.

If the baby is in a face-up position, will the mother have back labour?

This is a common baby born face up superstition. Back labour is the intense lower back pain that women feel during labour. And it was long thought that this is because of the baby facing up. But research studies based on ultrasonography reveals that this common assumption is wrong. It has been proven that mothers whose babies were in face-up position are not likely to complain of more back pain than those whose babies were facing face down or sideways.

Verdict:

But mothers whose babies are face up have prolonged labour, they had to push harder and most commonly have assisted vaginal birth or a C-section. The babies born that way also have breathing complication post birth for a short duration.
