How To Keep Fit

September 14, 2018

If your goal is not just to increase your current level of fitness but also to maintain your new level of fitness for years to come, simply continue reading to discover a few key tricks to keeping fit in the long term!

How To Keep Fit:

  1. Realize that in order to increase your fitness, you’ll have to change your lifestyle

One of the reasons why a high percentage of individuals fail to create long-lasting results when it comes to their health and fitness is that they’re unwilling to create long-term changes to their everyday lifestyle. Remember that in order to achieve your fitness related goals, you’ll have to change the way in which you live your day to day life.

As examples, you will have to spend far more time being active and you may have to alter the way that you socialize with your friends, in order to be able to make healthier choices.

  1. Consider hiring a personal trainer, who’ll be able to provide you with motivation and teach you valuable new skills

While you don’t have to belong to a local gym in order to keep fit, as long as you make an effort to exercise 5 days a week, if you are planning on signing up for a gym membership, it’s a wise idea to seriously contemplate hiring a personal trainer.

While you may not want to budget to pay a professional personal trainer on an ongoing basis, if you hire a personal trainer for a short period of 3 months, you’ll be able to learn valuable skills which you’ll be able to use for a lifetime.

As examples, you’ll be able to use gym equipment properly in order to decrease your chances of developing injuries and you’ll be able to plan gym workouts which target every area of your body and which will kickstart your heart rate. As a bonus, if you find it difficult to motivate yourself to get down to the gym, you’ll have no excuse to skip a workout if you’ve already paid for the services of a qualified personal trainer.

  1. Incorporate foods into your diet which will provide you with the energy which you need to complete vigorous daily workouts

If you would love to run up to every workout feeling energized and ready to work hard and push through your comfort zone, it’s important to alter your current diet to add new foods which are packed full of nutrients and vitamins.

As an example, if you don’t eat lean chicken breast on a weekly basis, it’s well worth incorporating lean chicken breast into your diet 2-3 times a week as it is low in fat and is packed full of protein. The latter of which your body requires to repair and build muscle tissue after a difficult workout.

If cooking and purchasing food is a chore for you, you may want to consider fitness muscle meals. You can get fresh, nutritious food that will help keep you going throughout the day.

  1. Consider training for events, which will require you to work out on a daily basis

As examples, you may have always dreamed of training for a half marathon or for a triathlon. If you always have a fitness challenge or goal in mind to achieve, is a great idea as you’ll be far less likely to skip out on your workouts.

So if you’re serious about changing your lifestyle in order to enjoy a higher level of fitness, it’s well worth taking the advice presented above seriously!

Understanding The Purpose and Benefits of Bog Mats

September 14, 2018

If you’re unsure about the situations in which you may want to consider hiring and using a bog mat, simply continue reading to understand the purpose and benefits.

Understanding the purpose and benefits of bag mats:

  1. You can use carefully laid out bog mats in order to protect grass from being destroyed by car traffic

If you plan on hosting an event and require your guests to park on a grass field and don’t want your grass being destroyed by being driven over by dozens of heavy vehicles, which will ruin your grass, you can hire and lay down bog mats for your guests to drive over in order to protect your grass.

As an added bonus if you lay down bog mats, that are designed to withstand the weight of vehicles, your guests will also be sure to stick to the path laid out for them, instead of freely driving all over your grass.

  1. Bog mats can also be used as pathways for outdoor events

If you are in charge of planning an outdoor vent, such as a corporate event or a wedding reception which is set to be held in an outdoor marquee, it’s well worth using bog mats to protect your grass and to allow your guests to safely be able to walk around your venue.

  1. Bog mats can double as a dance floor

If you foresee dancing taking place at your event, you’ll be able to use your bog mats to form a non-slip dance floor, which will allow your guests to safely dance the night away.

  1. You can use bog mats in order to prevent your guests from slipping over

If you’re hosting an event at a venue which has uneven terrain and you’re worried about your guests being able to safely move around your venue, it’s well worth investing in hiring bog mats for the duration of your event.

  1. Laying down bog mats can stop your guests from wandering off into areas which are restricted

Another benefit of laying down bog mats is that the vast majority of your guests will instinctively follow your bog mats and will avoid walking around areas of your venue, which are strictly off limit to guests.

  1. Bog mats are also used on construction sites

Bog mats are commonly used on construction sites in order to protect the ground surrounding the construction site which is being worked on. As an example, construction sites often use bog mats on areas of a construction site which are muddy or which are high traffic areas which will be prone to being torn up.

  1. Bog mats can be used in order to allow individuals or vehicles to access hard to access terrain

Bog mats are also routinely used in order to allow vehicles and individuals to access hard to access terrain, that would be nearly impossible to access without the use of handy bog mats.

Hopefully, after reading the information on bog mats listed above you now have a better understanding of the purpose and numerous benefits of bog mats!

Planning a Los Angeles Craft Brew Tour

September 14, 2018

The city of LA has forever featured at the top of the list of every craft beer lover in the country. All along the west coast and in the arms of this thriving city, are breweries where magic is brewed into sparkling gold pitches of perfection every day. So, in case you have been meaning to take a beer tour or two in the coming weekend, here’s a list of breweries in the city of Los Angeles that no self-respecting beer lover should ever miss.

And if you’re planning on making your LA craft brew tour a group affair, you might want to book a Los Angeles charter bus or minibus rental so that everyone can indulge and enjoy themselves without having to worry about being designated driver.
1. Glassel Park’s Eagle Rock Brewery

Now Eagle Rock Brewery should be first up on your list if you are just discovering the unique tastes of craft beers. Every Saturday and Sunday, at three hours past noon, the lovely people at Eagle Rock give quite educational and highly boozy tours that are not only free but quite informative. And in case you are (un)fortunate enough to get Jeremy Raub, who is a co-founder, to give you a tour, get ready for at least a solid forty minutes’ worth of talk on all things beer, from the cleaning to the crafting.

But it’s not just dry info that you must gather here. All three flavours of beer, including the Manifesto, the Populist and the Revolution, and the seasonal delights that one wishes would stick around, pack quite a punch and must be tried at least once. Or twice. Just make sure you’re not the designated driver, savvy?

2. Angel City Brewery in the Downtown Arts District

Since you obviously delight in the finer things in life, the Angel City Brewery should definitely be on your list. And that’s not just for the craft beer, which is amazing in itself, but also the scent of history that clings to the place like the fine taste of beer on an expert tongue. The brewery left its old storefront in the Alpine village in early 2010 to set up shop in the historic Roebling building that had once produced the suspension cables that holds the Golden Gate and Brooklyn Bridge up in such glory. The place is extensive and has a scattering of picnic tables under the glorious mezzanine. The brewery not only offers free tours every Thursday to Sunday but also hands out free samples that you can try before choosing a favourite.

3. The Arts District Brewing Co.

They say all work and no play may turn Jack into a dull albeit a very drunk boy. Don’t be Jack. and visit this adult playground of a brewery in the Arts District for a taste of good beer and victory as you battle your friends at the pingpong table. There are darts, there is Skee-Ball and there is the scent of delicious food wafting from a takeout window. And just when you think that it couldn’t get any better, you actually encounter the beer, including the ten original brews that are literally ready to sweep you off your feet. The place also hosts a free tour every Tuesday. The tour lasts for about 20 minutes and is first come first serve so, you might want to hurry. Just be careful not to spill your beer. Especially since there are no free samples.

The city of Los Angeles might be spilling over with ‘beer-full’ options, but you must remember that not all that sparkles is a good beer. Don’t worry, though. Just buckle up and plan for a long weekend and some hangovers ahead, because the breweries on this list will refuse to leave you thirsty for more.

Turquoise waters give way to gentle ocean breezes. Scuba divers swim alongside teeming sea life. Michelin-starred establishments impress the savviest foodies.

The islands of Thailand offer travelers an array of different experiences. But with 300 islands which are right for your vacation?

From islands paradises where you can party all night long to secluded vacations designed for a romantic escape, here are the best islands in Thailand worth the visit.

Top 10 Islands In Thailand Worth The Journey

When you’re looking for the best in Asia highlights, here’s what you need to see and do. Grab a pen, paper, and your passport – let’s go!

1. Koh Samui

Wrapped in world-class luxury and an enriching history, you’d never know Koh Samui used to be a backpacker and ravers spot with cheap rustic huts and all-night parties. This original Thai island has changed in a really big way.

Now one of the hottest yoga and wellness destinations in the world, travelers come to the luxury beach resorts and hotel spas.

In Koh Samui, dine at a Michelin-starred restaurant, book a spa treatment, and arrange childcare in family-friendly hotels that offer Western menus and splash pools for the little ones.

2. Koh Pha Ngan

Looking for a hardcore party island? Well, Koh Pha Ngan is your island oasis. Head to the full moon parties at Haad Rin’s Sunrise Beach for three-day beach parties.

And it’s no wonder it’s so popular. It’s coined James Bond Island.

If you’re there during peak season, you just might view 20,000 partygoers getting their groove on the white sand dancing beneath the full moon with a drink and partner in hand.

If you can’t book your trip during peak season you can still live it up at black-moon and half-moon beach parties. There’s a party every night and you can also find secluded beaches if you want a party of their own.

3. Phuket

Phuket bustles with more energy and activity than any island in Thailand. Stay in a 6-star resort with your own private butler. Dine at a restaurant featuring a celebrity chef. And shop at designer boutiques on the island.

You can even schedule a tummy tuck in glitzy Phuket. Then head to the beach and recline on a lounger or enjoy tropical drinks at a beach bar. If you want to escape the glitz, head to Kata Noi for a laid-back vibe.

4. Koh Tao

A popular island for divers, Koh Tao, nicknamed “Turtle Island” is a scuba diver’s paradise. Discover beaches with sandy coves, lantern-lit eateries and plenty of dive shops.

If you’re visiting for the diving but aren’t certified, you can sign up to take a four-day PADI or SSI Open Water Certification.

If you don’t want to take the full course you can get a one-day Discovery Dive course where you can dive down 39 feet without a certification.

If you’re certified you can take advanced classes and learn night diving, shark diving, and wreck diving.

Although many island visitors come to dive, there’s plenty to do for non-divers. Dance to a booming nightlife, go to the full moon party, enjoy water sports and more.

5. Koh Lanta

Koh Lanta is home to several small islands. The most popular: Koh Lanta Yai. In this beautiful destination, you can lounge on secluded beaches and explore nature preserves.

This island is more for the 30+crowd and it’s also good for families because of its tranquil waters. Not a favorite for young backpackers.

Sunbathe on pristine white sand beaches, get a soothing massage, go to a lively beach bar or kayak through a mangrove forest.

When you’re done, enjoy a bowl of tom yum in one of the friendly fishing villages on the island.

6. Koh Lipe

A great island for newlyweds and romance!

Koh Lipe boasts one of the most beautiful beach islands in Thailand. This fantastic destination is part of Tarutao Marine Park that borders Malaysia.

And the island offers the best of both worlds: postcard-perfect sands and luxury lodging. You won’t see swarms of vacationers like you’d see in Phuket or Samui which adds to this island’s charm.

For a quiet vista, stroll along secluded Sunset Beach where you can book diving and snorkeling tours close by or visit Pattaya Beach for some of the island’s nightlife.

7. Koh Chang

Want to explore Thailand’s eastern islands? Then Koh Chang makes a great starting point. More quaint than Samui and Phuket, Koh Chang is a snapshot of Thailand.

On Koh Chang, you can experience a national park where you can go jungle trekking. Explore some of the archipelago’s more secluded islands from this departure point.

Looking for a bohemian vibe? Head to Had Sai Noi Beach. You’ll love the bar scene! Visit the unique fishing village in Salakkok Bay and snake through the mangroves on a kayak. It’s a rare sight that’s quickly disappearing.

When you get to land, try the homemade curry pastes in the family-run eatery in Klong Prao village which also has a cooking school.

8. Koh Phi Phi

One of the best islands in Thailand for singles and solo travelers. The island draws a sophisticated younger crowd that enjoys a party punctuated by days of relaxation.

While it’s not as hardcore as Pha Ngan, Koh Phi Phi hosts a good party. Especially if you’re vacationing on New Year’s Eve.

Koh Phi Phi got a total rebuild which people love after the tsunami destroyed the island. Guests can go cliff jumping, take a boat trip to Koh Phi Phi Ley where”The Beach” was filmed.

Spend the day swimming and enjoying the beach bars. The evenings come to life with Thai fire dancers who juggle flames until the wee hours.

9. Koh Si Chang

Have a business meeting in Bangkok or visiting Thailand for a few days? Then you can still make it to an island without traveling far. Koh Si Change is a two-hour ride from Bangkok. A popular spot for Bangkok residents who want to take a day trip or a weekend break.

And if you’re visiting Bangkok for business, here are some cool ideas on how to plan a corporate retreat.

While Koh Si Change doesn’t offer the best island beaches Thailand has to offer, it features a verdant- hued scenery, quaint fishing villages and a quiet respite close to busy Bangkok.

While you’re there, head to Haad Tham Phang Beach for fresh seafood and enjoy a tropical beverage with your toes in the sand.

Numbered from one to nine, the islands form a national park in the Andaman Sea. Relish white sand beaches on Koh Miang with its quaint bamboo bungalows. For soft sand that sparkles, hit Koh Tachai.

8 Things You Need to Know Before Taking a Caribbean Vacation

September 11, 2018

The Caribbean has so many natural wonders to offer. But before you take a vacation in the Caribbean, here are some things you should know.

Are you dreading the harsh winter that lies ahead? Book a tropical Caribbean vacation and get away from the cold and snow.

What better way to end the year than with some sun and good old vitamin sea? Not only will you get to escape the cold, but you’ll get to explore another corner of the world and cross another place off your bucket list.

But there are a lot of misconceptions about taking a vacation in the Caribbean that could leave you with some snags on your trip. Instead, you’ll want to be prepared and do your research before you leave.

Keep reading to discover 8 things you need to know before taking a Caribbean vacation.

1. The Islands Are All Different

With over 7,000 islands, including Aruba, Jamaica, and The Bahamas, you’ll have tons of options to choose from when traveling to the Caribbean. But don’t fall into the trap of thinking they’re all one in the same.

While they share similar qualities, like a tropical climate and breathtaking beaches, they also have many differences. Some are better for romantic honeymoons while others are known for scuba diving and snorkeling. Ideally, you should pick one or two islands that meet your travel goals.

2. There’s More to Do Than Hit the Beach

Of course, you’ll want to spend your fair share of time on the beach – who wouldn’t when you’re in paradise? But there’s more to do when you travel to the Caribbean than lounging in the sand.

Create a list of all the things you want to do. This could include taking a cultural tour, snorkeling, or seeing wildlife. Then find an island that will let you do this.

Don’t forget to do extra research to uncover any hidden gems or unique activities on the island you chose. To avoid spending all your money on vacation, consider looking for free activities too!

3. The Weather Does Vary

One of the main reasons you’ve probably chosen the Caribbean for your next vacation is because of the warm weather. But know that they don’t experience perfect sunny days all year long.

Winter is a popular time to visit because this is when the weather in the Caribbean is at its peak. If you’re looking to save a little on hotel and airfare, you can get good deals and nice weather by going during the shoulder season.

However, June through November poses a potential problem as this is hurricane season. The last thing you’ll want is to get stormed out of your tropical vacation.

4. There Are Many Levels of Accommodation

Do you have this image of giant all-inclusive resorts dotting the beach? While there are many resorts to choose from, they aren’t your only option.

There’s accommodation to meet many different budgets when you vacation in the Caribbean.

You could opt for an all-inclusive package (which may seem expensive, but also includes food, drinks, and airfare), or opt for a budget hotel. But make sure everyone is on the same page with this aspect before you start planning your trip.

5. The Local Food Is Amazing

If you’ve decided to stay in an all-inclusive resort, you’re probably planning on eating most meals there. But don’t be afraid to venture off the resort a few times and try some authentic local cuisine.

Most islands have Creole or Latin-inspired cuisines that contain local ingredients, such as spiny lobster, goat, and red snapper. Part of traveling is experiencing life in a different country – so, take a leap and try something authentic and different. Look for travel tips to help you decide what foods and restaurants you must try when you’re there to ensure you get the best local food.

6. You Can’t Always Rely on Walking

Do you have a busy itinerary planned for your trip? Don’t forget to see how far apart your activities are. There’s a good chance you’ll need to organize transportation.

While you’ll likely be able to walk to the beach and local restaurants, you may need to rent a car or call a taxi to take you to your various planned excursions. This can add up quickly, so don’t forget to include it in your budget! However, you can save some money and help the environment by taking public transportation.

7. You May Need Vaccinations

When traveling from a first world country, many people forget about getting vaccinations. However, in certain areas of the world, these are extremely important to get before traveling.

The CDC recommends certain vaccines when traveling to the Caribbean, including Hepatitis A and Typhoid on top of routine vaccines. You’ll want to know this information with plenty of time to spare as many insurances don’t cover these voluntary travel vaccines and not every doctor’s office administers them.

8. Know What to Pack

Creating a comprehensive packing list is one of the most important things to do before you vacation in the Caribbean. Forgetting one important item could mean you have to waste your time on vacation looking for a replacement.

You’ll want to bring at least two bathing suits (so you always have a dry suit to put on). And pack plenty of shorts and lightweight clothing to keep you cool in the Caribbean heat. Plastic flip-flops are a must for the beach, although you should still pack sneakers or hiking shoes if you have an active itinerary planned.

Also, don’t forget your essential toiletries, including sunscreen and bug spray. The last thing you’ll want to deal with is painful sunburn or itchy bug bites everywhere. If you’re prone to sunburn, pack some aloe vera gel or another sunburn relief cream, so you’re prepared to soothe your burn right away.

Preparing to Vacation in The Caribbean

If there’s a Caribbean getaway in your future, you’ll want to make sure you do the proper research and planning before you go. One slip-up could cause your trip to take an unexpected turn.

So follow our guide to the things you need to know before taking a vacation in the Caribbean to ensure you’re well-prepared for your luxury getaway.

If you’re traveling to Northern California, you won’t want to miss out on the incredible dining scene. Here are 8 of the best places to eat in San Francisco.

Some of the best food in San Francisco is tucked away in corners of the city that you may never cross if you’re not looking for something in particular.

But, that doesn’t mean you can’t find the best restaurants in San Francisco. It just means you’ll need to be privy to their existence.

And, with so many choices, it can be difficult to narrow it all down to just one restaurant. After all, there are dining choices for every type of occasion and every type of individual, finicky or not.

So, where should you eat?

If you’re wondering what the best places to eat in San Francisco are, then you’ve come to the right place. In this article, we’re discussing some of the greatest dining scenes in the city. Keep reading to learn more.

8 of the Best Places to Eat in San Francisco

San Francisco has more restaurants per capita than any other city in America. Needless to say, it wasn’t easy compiling this list of just eight establishments.

These restaurants; some plain, some trendy, some hidden in plain sight, are all the craze in 2018. So, get ready to give your taste buds the ride of a lifetime while you savor all that these establishments have to offer.

1. Spruce

Spruce is deeply nestled in Presidio Heights, an inner-city suburb of San Francisco. It boasts white tablecloths, excellent customer service, and a wine list that absolutely doesn’t disappoint.

This is a refined neighborhood restaurant for the casual or formal diner.

Many people celebrate the signature menu item, the burger, adding taleggio or foie gras for the ultimate treat.

Spruce won the Grand Award from Wine Spectator magazine in 2017. Chef Sullivan believes in the farm to table philosophy and therefore many items on the menu are organic and ethically grown at a private farm outside the city.

2. Basa Seafood Express

If you have a hankering for some seafood and you’re dining on a budget, Basa Seafood Express is the place to be. Try their clam chowder and a salmon burger or fried shrimp and chips for a satisfying seafood treat.

This is also a seafood market where you can buy fresh seafood to make your own special dinner at home. If you’d prefer to have the food cooked for you, you can either dine in or order out. Don’t plan on a large party, however, as there are only a few seats and tables available.

3. Turtle Tower

Turtle Tower has three convenient locations so you can always find them. Check out the Civic Center, Outer Richmond, and SoMa, or order for delivery if you prefer! Make sure to check the days and hours of operation for your preferred location.

This restaurant serves authentic Ha Noi style Vietnamese cuisine with fast and friendly service.

The vibe is homey if you’re dining in and you’ll love the coconut infused water with real coconut meat. Go for the pho, and if you want to try something different, that’s okay, too.

4. The Cliff House

The Cliff House is one of San Francisco’s staple restaurants, if not for the food, for the view and dining experience altogether. When it’s not foggy, you can see the Sutro Bath ruins and rugged coastline for miles. When it is foggy, you’ll feel like you’re suspended in a cloud, high atop the world.

Make a brunch date to enjoy the $5 Irish coffees and an elegant mimosa or come for dinner and take your pick among the many wine varieties to pair with your meal. Whatever you decide, we’re sure you’ll want to come back again and again.

5. Rooster & Rice

Rooster & Rice has three convenient locations with one more on the way. Their signature menu item is Thai Chicken and Rice, also known as khao mun gai. You’ll enjoy the chicken and rice infused with cucumber and cilantro and topped off with garlic, ginger, chilis, and soybeans, all for under 12 bucks.

6. Roka Akor

Group Getaway: The Ultimate Guide to Planning a Company Retreat

September 6, 2018

Group Getaway: The Ultimate Guide to Planning a Company Retreat

There’s no better way to show appreciation to your employees than planning a company retreat. But if you don’t know where to start, click here to find out.

There are many reasons to plan a corporate retreat. It’s a time to get away from the office to work on creating stronger bonds between employees.

A business retreat is also a great way to build trust within a company. And it’s also just a nice way to show your employees how much you appreciate them.

But you can’t just book hotel rooms and call it a day. Without a formal plan, you won’t gain the benefits of a company retreat.

To help you and your employees get the most out of your time together, keep reading. We’re sharing with you the ultimate guide to planning a company retreat.

Create an Agenda for Your Company Retreat

Prepare and hand out the agenda before you head out on your business retreat. The agenda will help everyone plan accordingly.

Not only will they be able to pack essential items to help them participate in the planned events, it also helps everyone mentally prepare.

However, don’t have every minute planned. This agenda should be less structured than a day at the office since you are here to actually have some fun.

Allow for changes and adaptations so everyone gets the most out of it they possibly can.

Use Corporate Retreat Ideas That Help Introverts Feel Comfortable

Remember that not everyone is a leader. Some people are introverts and don’t always feel comfortable in large group settings.

In fact, if done incorrectly, your corporate retreat can end up exhausting the introverts while invigorating the extroverts. This isn’t what you want to achieve.

Instead, plan games and events that both introverts and extroverts can play. Extroverts can shout out answers while introverts write them down.

Make sure there’s plenty of downtimes so introverts can rest up while extroverts can gather together.

Make Sure Everyone Has Transportation

Not everyone owns a car or has their own form of transportation. Perhaps employees share one car and a spouse needs it to shuttle the kids around.

One way to ensure everyone comes on your business retreat is to help plan travel arrangements ahead of time. You can hire shuttle vans or buses to pick up everyone to travel together.

The bus ride can be filled with lots of fun activities or you can even take the time for everyone to share their own company retreat ideas. You can even give a prize to the person who comes up with the best event idea.

Be Aware of Food, Alcohol, and Physical Limitations

A corporate retreat to wine country sounds amazing. And there are plenty of breweries you can visit as well.

But before you book any excursions, make sure no employee is struggling with alcohol addiction or simply chooses to be a teetotaler. Otherwise, it’s not a fun or fair trip for them.

Another issue you may have to watch out for is with food. Many people are on special diets which may make it difficult for them to find food during your retreat.

Then there are those people who physically can’t do certain activities.

Try to make sure your food menus include plenty of healthy fruits and vegetables and that you address any food allergies anyone may have.

For those who can’t be around alcohol or who have a physical ailment making it difficult to participate in certain activities, try to find alternative activities during those times.

Create a Budget

To plan a fun corporate retreat, plan on spending a minimum of $500 per person per night. That should include the hotel stay, meeting space, food and beverages, transportation, and a few other things.

If you’re booking your stay at a hotel then don’t forget to ask for concessions. Hotels love booking corporate events because it means big money for them, especially if you plan on using their hotel more than once.

Do not be afraid to ask if they’re willing to add in extra concessions like waving the resort fee or giving you all free Wi-Fi. The more money you can save, the better.

And research ways you can save extra money before you book your trip.

Choose Someone to Facilitate the Retreat

Someone will need to be in charge of ensuring everything goes smoothly. Appoint someone who is already trained in dealing with groups and knows how to maintain neutrality throughout the entire process.

While you may think the CEO or manager is a great choice, these people aren’t usually known for being neutral. Which is why it’s usually best to hire a professional facilitator.

However, since they can cost up to $5,000, if that’s not in your budget, whoever you appoint to be the leader needs to tread lightly.

It’s not so easy to be a leader and then ask employees to openly and honestly give their opinion.

They’re worried about their jobs. It’s your job at the retreat to create a space where people feel they can speak freely.

Make it Fun, Not Cheesy

Your goal is to come up with company retreat ideas that are fun but aren’t cheesy. You don’t want your attendees to feel they are being forced to pretend they’re having fun when secretly, they’re rolling their eyes.

Do some research on fun activities that aren’t the typical games people play. While it’s okay to use some classics, a potato sack race just might be a bit too much for people.

Book Early

The sooner you book a place to hold your company retreat, the less expensive it will be. It’s also easier for you to plan something in advance to ensure you have plenty of time to prepare.

Try searching for a place to hold your retreat that’s not in a major city or town. Not only will you save more money but your attendees won’t be as tempted to leave the retreat in search of their own fun.

And book your trip off-season. Again, you’ll save money, you’ll probably get a better package, and with fewer people around you can really focus on team building.

Keep Researching Corporate Retreat Ideas

If your first company retreat is a success, it makes sense to keep doing it. But you don’t want to keep doing the same thing year after year.

Instead, keep researching around for new ideas. Don’t forget to ask employees to share their favorite ideas as well.

And our blog can help. We’re constantly sharing our favorite places on the planet to travel to. Find out where your next retreat will be by clicking here.

Everything You Need to Know About Moving to Spain: How to Make the Spanish Lifestyle Work for You

September 4, 2018

Are you relocating to Spain? Whether you’re moving for work or leisure, the Spanish life is one of the best! Here’s everything about moving to Spain.

Moving abroad is a life-changing adventure. It’s the best way to immerse yourself in a new culture. It’s also the quickest way to learn a foreign language.

But the question remains: where to move to? Should you explore the streets of Paris? Or drink tea on the Bosphorus in Istanbul?

While there are many destinations out there, expats are choosing Spain as their new homes. It’s a European country with a magnificent history and culture to discover.

But, if you’re planning on moving to Spain, you’ll have to plan ahead. Even countries in the EU have their own rules and regulations.

Even if moving to Spain can be a challenge, it’s 100% worth it. To get your move off to the right start, check out our tips for moving to Spain.

The First Step to Moving to Spain: Get a Visa

There are so many practical reasons expats are moving to Spain. They might have fallen in love with the country while on vacation. Or they’re ready to experience the insane amounts of food in Barcelona.

But you won’t be able to stay in your new home country if you don’t have the visa to go with it.

If you’re an EU national, then you’re golden. You can travel and move to Spain without a visa.

The rest of us will need one of these three long-term stay visas:

  • Work Visa
  • Student Visa
  • Retirement Visas or visas for family reasons

If you have a job already lined up, ask your employer to help you with this process. But if you’re on your own or starting a business, then you can apply at your Spanish embassy or online.

You’ll also need to get an NIE, or Foreigner’s Identity Number, to do things like setting up a bank account.

Find a Place to Stay

One of the best ways to find a place to stay is to scout out other expat boards. Check for these forums based in your new city, and start asking around.

You can also hire a realtor to help you. But there’s also the option of renting an Airbnb for a month while you scout out homes to stay in. Yes, this will add another stress to your plate. But it will be so much easier to make decisions about where to stay when you’re on the ground.

If you have a lot of things you want to transport in your move to Spain, then you should learn more about moving trucks.

Opening a Bank Account

Once you have your NIE lined up, you can open a bank account in Spain. This will be easier when you have to pay taxes or send money back home.

If you’re not confident in your Spanish, book an appointment with an English speaker. You’ll need to bring a few items to get started:

  • Passport
  • Foreigner’s Identity Number (NIE)
  • Residence Certificate
  • Proof of employment and address

Learn the Language

When you move to a foreign country, it’s tempting to find other expats who speak English and never branch out. This is especially true if you’re an ESL teacher.

But if you don’t learn Spanish, you’ll miss out on amazing experiences and connections. Plus if you ever decide to return to your country of origin, you’ll have a new skill to offer.
