The Best Places to Visit in the UK

The United Kingdom has been one of the most popular tourist destinations in Europe, with more than 42 million visitors globally flocking to its islands. Thanks to its excellent transportation system and manageable size, you may easily tour from dazzling beaches to rugged heathland within a few hours.

However, with many things to do and see, choosing destinations to visit might be challenging. So to help you narrow down all the available options, the following are some of the best places you can tour in the UK:

Stonehenge and Salisbury

Among the oldest heritage sites in the world is Stonehenge. For about 4,500 years, it has been a pilgrimage place, and it is believed that it was established as a place of worship.

Nowadays, the crowds comprise tourists mainly drawn by the scale of this beautiful monument. With Stonehenge tours from London, you may catch a glimpse into its history and construction.

Ensure you also spend your time in Salisbury city, based just about 15km from Stonehenge. Of course, you will be glad to visit the UK’s most famous cathedrals that date back to the early 1220s.

Lundy Island

This tiny and beautiful island, which is off the Devon coast, is remote and home to some puffins and less than 30 individuals.

Some historic buildings have been it turned into holiday rentals for individuals looking for solitude. Actually, you won’t feel like you are on vacation until you cross a water body.

Hyde Park

This is a royal park in London. It is located around Kensington Palace. These days, it is among the major parks in the UK and usually plays an important role when it comes to the cultural scenes of London.

It has also become a place of reclaiming free speech and is popular for holding many musical concerns from a very long list of artists, such as Pink Floyd and Queen. Not to mention, Hyde Park is connected to main roads and the London tube. That means reaching here won’t be an issue.

Isle of Skye

The Isle of Sky is absolutely a mystical destination located on the west coast of Scotland. It has been every photographer’s dream and a history buff recently. In addition, it is popular for its stark and dramatic landscapes, with ancient castles and ruins dating back to the medieval period.

It is also a destination with famous and historic clan squabbles, wildlife, and dinosaur fossils. Whether you are a climbing or hiking fanatic, Isle of Skye will never disappoint you.

Gower Peninsula

You don’t necessarily need to stick to England while you can still explore other places in the UK. Visiting Wales can be among the best things you may do, thanks to its rich history as well as amazing scenery, like the Gower Peninsula.

The Gower Peninsula’s jewel is Three Cliffs Bay, which offers views of dramatic peaks and stunning waves. These are perfect for individuals looking to enjoy their spring holidays.

Concluding Remarks!

From breathtaking scenery on coastlines to medieval towns, the UK is definitely a destination of many rewards. Whether you are touring the UK for the first or fifth time, there are many places you can tour, including Stonehenge and Gower Peninsula, to name a few.
