How to Prepare for a Cruise

If you’re excited about embarking on an exciting, all-inclusive cruise, simply continue reading to discover a handy guide to effortlessly preparing yourself for an upcoming cruise!

How to prepare for a cruise:

1. Make sure to pack multiple swimsuits

If you plan on cruising during summer or to warm, tropical locales, it’s well worth packing multiple swimsuits, so that you’ll never have to put on a wet swimsuit. Even if you plan on cruising during winter, you may want to make use of your cruise ship’s hot tubs.

2. Don’t bother packing a towel

Your cruise ship will provide you with towels for your cabin, pool deck and port excursions, so there’s no need to pack a bulky towel.

3. Pack 1-2 smart outfits for formal nights

Most cruises feature multiple formal nights, so if you’d like to dine in your ship’s restaurants and lounges on formal nights, make sure to pack 1-2 smart outfits.

4. Research each destination which your cruise will visit

To make the most of your time in each destination, it’s well worth researching each destination as well as new cruise ships 2018 that will stop in which destinations so that you’ll be able to preplan the tours which you may want to book or to organise independent exploration.

It’s also worth finding out how far away each port which you visit is from the city center of each destination. As, in some locations, the port which you visit may be located 30 minutes to 60 minutes out of the city which you plan to explore.

If a city which you’d like to visit is too far away to walk to, it’s a great idea to research escorted tours, cab fares and public transportation options in advance, so that you don’t end up paying far more for a tour, cab or bus then you should. As it’s easy to get swindled when you travel, if you haven’t done your research and know how much to pay for services.

5. Make sure to get your hands on some local cash

While you should be able to use your credit card in most of the ports that you plan on visiting, it’s still wise to have a small amount of local cash, for each destination which your cruise visits on hand. As an example, depending on the part of the world that you plan on traveling to, the local markets and boutiques which you visit may only accept cash and ATMs may not be readily available.

6. Factor tipping into your cruise budget

Unless you’ve pre-paid for your tips in the price of your cruise, you may want to set aside a small amount of money in order to tip your room steward and waiters at the end of your cruise.

7. Pick out a karaoke song to wow your new friends with

If you enjoy singing, it’s well worth practicing one of your favorite songs in advance as karaoke nights on cruise ships are extremely popular and a lot of fun.

If you follow all of the fuss-free cruise tips listed above, you’ll be well prepared for your upcoming cruise of a lifetime!
