Backpacking Essentials to Keep You Exploring

Over the years, the general concept of travelling has completely evolved. Where people once believed that travelling was only for the skilled who had enough extra money to spend on the high fares and expensive hotels, today travelling is believed to be an essential for everyone. This is largely because people have come to believe that there are several benefits of going out to explore the world on your own.

Wanderlust and Backpacking

Moreover, the pleasure that people derive from just taking their time off to visit unknown places has an aura of its own. It becomes addictive once you begin to get the hang of it and you just cannot stop exploring. A phenomenon they call wanderlust. However, wanderlust also entails that you have enough resources to undertake your exploratory trips all the time.

However, the need to have excess resources was slowly diminished as people came up with cost-effective solutions for their travelling habits. Backpacking is by far the most cost-effective. The concept comes from that of minimalism and involves carrying only those belongings that you will absolutely need during your travel. Which means you take only a backpack full of belongings with you for your entire trip.

What You Must Pack

But since you are only taking a backpack full, it is essential that you pack smartly. Packing smartly is not as easy as it sounds. So, to make it easier for you, here are your backpacking essentials that you absolutely need for your backpacking trip:

A Tent

Since backpacking is all about avoiding unnecessary expenditures, it also means that you avoid spending on lavish hotels. What is the point of spending so much on accommodation if you are going to be out exploring all day, anyway? In fact, the most amazing places to explore have no hotels available for miles. This necessitates that you carry a tent with you. You can set this tent up on flat ground and have your sleep. You must ensure that you pick waterproof and lightweight tents for your trip.

Backpacking Stove and Spices

Minimalist or not, you have got to eat especially when it comes to travelling. For this, although you cannot carry a lot of food in your bag, but you can carry a small backpacking stove. Plus, if you are particular about the taste, also take with you a pack of organic spices. You can find amazing pure organic herbs and spices online and pack them to take with you.

Then when you do use your stove to cook, sprinkle these spices and you will have the taste of home-cooked food wherever you go.

Water bottles

You absolutely cannot go out exploring on your own without a water bottle. Where everything else on this list has to be as small as possible, your water bottle is an exception. This is because dehydration on a trip can be life-threatening and really get you down. For a water bottle, try to get a stainless steel bottle that can hold enough water for you and is convenient to fit in your bag.
