Road Trip List: Things to Bring on A Road Trip in Summer 2019

According to a AAA Travel survey, 100 million Americans are planning to take a family vacation in 2019.

Nothing’s more frustrating than forgetting to pack an essential. Don’t worry though; we’ve got you covered!

Get packing with this list of five things to bring on a road trip. That way, you’ll be prepared with everything you need to make your next road trip a “wheel” success!

1. Spare Tire

You never know what’s going to happen while you’re on the road. To be prepared, pack a spare tire—and know how to change it.

That way, a flat tire couldn’t possibly slow you down. By packing a spare tire as one of the essential things to bring on a road trip, you can prepare for potholes and loose nails that might cause a flat.

This will also help you prepare in cause AAA isn’t within reach!

For a little extra room, look into Truck Campers for your next road trip.

2. License, Registration, Insurance

These seem like basic things to pack on a road trip (or even a short drive), but they’re major and can’t be forgotten!

Don’t bother starting the car without these three items. That way, you’re prepared for possible accidents (or even an unfortunate, unwanted speeding ticket).

3. Snackage

It’s important to stay fueled during a road trip. That means your car and everyone who’s tagging along, too!

Pack everyone’s favorite snacks and bottles of water for the road. That way, you can stay hydrated and stop less often for a bite to eat. Prepare to make a few stops for bathroom breaks, though.

If you’re packing snacks as part of your road trip list, make sure to check out number five on this list of things to bring on a road trip.

4. First Aid Kit

More than 18,000 Americans die every year from accidents that occur at home. With a first aid kit at hand while you’re on the road, you can take first steps before you reach a hospital.

Having a first aid kit at the ready can also prevent a hospital trip. If someone experiences a mild fall and cuts their skin, a first aid kit can help prevent infection.

Otherwise, not having basics like bandages and antiseptic wipes can hinder your road trip.

Instead of wasting half the day at the hospital, add this to your list of things to bring on a road trip to prepare for any accidents.

5. Car Garbage Can

All of those empty snack wrappers and water bottles have to go somewhere, right? No, I don’t mean the floor or littering the dashboard, either.

A car garbage can will help keep your vehicle clean even during long car rides.

As an item on your road trip essentials list, a garbage can will save you the clean up at the end of your drive.
