However, it’s not always obvious which are the best places to visit in Georgia. That’s why we’ve put together the top 5 places to visit in Georgia. Let’s go!

1. Explore the Tusheti National Park

The Tusheti National Park is on the edge between Russia and Chechnya.

The breathtaking mountain range and charming green hills are dotted with villages. Home to the Tush people, the village offers welcome relief from the unforgiving nature.

2. The Capital City of Tbilisi

The up and coming capital city of Tbilisi is packed with history down around every corner. The urban sprawl reaches out to the Mtkvari River.

Overlooking the city is the ancient fortress Narikala, which you can be visited by tourists. If you want to briefly escape the city head toward the Botanical Gardens. During warm weather, you’ll find people relaxing in the nearby park next to the waterfall.

In the old heart of the city, you’ll discover Byzantine churches and charming streets. Don’t miss the Sameba Cathedral for a taste of the architecture.

For dinner, adventure into the Vake district, where you’ll find fancy restaurants serving traditional Georgian cuisine.

3. The Cave Monastery of Vardzia

The building is a spectacular place to visit during your stay in Georgia. The construction of the monastery began under Giorgi III in the 12th century.

The accomplishment is incredible. It has up to 365 rooms that you can explore with Tour Guide Georgia.

Unfortunately, much of the site was destroyed by an earthquake. And yet, monks continue to live in the cave.

4. Batumi Beach at the Black Sea

If you’ve had enough of strolling around the city and trekking up mountains, it may be time to relax on the beach.

Batumi Beach isn’t the biggest around. Nevertheless, it is the perfect place to spend an afternoon worshiping the sun.

Don’t like sand in between your toes? You’re in luck because this beach is made up of rocks and stones.

5. Kakheti’s Vineyards

When you think about a wine you probably think about French or Australian wines. Georgia is an underrated wine-growing culture as well.

More and more wine lovers are heading to Georgia to taste the wine. You can sample everything from the fruity Aguna rosé to the sweet wine of Tvishi.

You can even visit the vineyards of Kakheti yourself when you’re in the region. Tours of the wineries will give you a memorable and slightly tipsy experience.
