7 Campfire Treats for Your Next Camping Trip

Ah, the great outdoors; peace, quiet, and someone screaming “Mom! I’m hungry!” Chances are you’ve become bored with your standard s’mores. So if you’re looking to delight everyone with some creative campfire treats, look no further.

We’ve compiled a list of some of our favorite campfire recipes that are sure to impress your camping crew and ensure everyone goes to bed with a full belly. Read on to get some creative campfire food ideas to bring with you on your next camping trip.

1. S’Mores in a Cone

Tired of sticky fingers and burnt marshmallows? Try filling an icecream cone with mini marshmallows and chocolate chips, wrapping in tin foil and tossing it on the hot coals for a few minutes. The result should be a gooey campfire treat that is fun and delicious!

2. French Bread Pizza

These are easy to prep at home or on a picnic table. Cut a loaf of french bread in half lengthwise and layer one side with sauce and cheese and the other with sauce and pepperoni. Reassemble the loaf and wrap with tin foil and bake over the fire or in the coals until your cheese is melty and the bread gets a little crispy. Cut into handheld pieces and enjoy!

3. Jalapeno Poppers

Jalapeno poppers at home are one thing, but campfire jalapeno poppers are next level.

Cut each pepper in half lengthwise and remove the seeds. Stuff with cream cheese and wrap with bacon. You’ll need a sturdy grill basket in order to roast these puppies over hot coals or flame for a smokey, mouthwatering campfire snack that everyone is sure to enjoy.

4. Bacon on a Stick

What’s not to love about campfire food on a stick? Save those marshmallow sticks for the next morning when you’ll pierce one end of a piece of bacon and wrap the rest around the stick.

Bacon grease can be very flammable so be cautious with one.

5. Dutch Oven Dump Cake

Mix your cake batter and pour it into a cast iron dutch oven. Now, dump an entire can of fruit pie filling right in the center!. Place on hot coals and add coals to the lid. This will cook within 15 minutes depending on how hot your fire is.

6. S’Moreos

Yes, you read that correctly. Replace each graham cracker with an Oreo cookie, one slathered in peanut butter, the other in Nutella. Place your toasty marshmallow in the middle and voila! You just became the star camper.

7. Brownie Campfire Treats

Leave your 9×11 greased pan at home. Pour your brownie batter into an orange peel, wrap in tin foil, and bake on the coals. It might be hard to go back to regular brownies after trying this one!

Hungry for More?

If these tasty campfire treats have your mouth watering pack up the car and head out to the wilderness! You’ll be sure to impress and make a bunch of happy campers with any of these campfire food ideas.
