3 Things You Should Know Before Opening Up Your Own Brewery

If you have a passion for all things beer then it’s only natural that you’d be passionate about opening up a brewery of your own. With so many competing breweries out there, however, it’s important that you equip yourself with the right information to ensure your success. If you’re considering opening up your own brewery, then you should follow these tips before you dive in.

Know The Basics First

Regardless of what kind of business you’re starting— whether it’s a brewery or a hair salon, it’s important that you know the basics of starting a business. There’s a lot that goes into it, and a lot can go wrong during the process. It’s critical that you have the right information under your belt to avoid mishaps due to all of the complexities involved.

You’ll need to know things like, what the startup costs are and what kind of equipment you’ll need. Know what company to contact for a walk-in cooler and how to obtain all of your necessary permits and licenses. Do your research so that you know exactly what you need and how to do it. Otherwise, you’ll be stumbling in the dark.

Brand Yourself Carefully

Choosing a brewery name is only the beginning of creating a successful brand. You’ll also need to create a logo, and establish an aesthetic. Identify who your target customer is and create your look and feel based on the appeals of that type of person.

The more that your brand reflects the personality of your ideal customer, the more that you can encourage brand loyalty, and repeat business.

Location is everything when choosing the place for your brewery. If you’re in an undesirable location then you won’t have many customers. You want to make sure that you’re near where the people are. Whether you’re near businesses that attract employees for after-work happy hour, or in a residential area where people will flock to you as their local watering hole, the idea is to choose somewhere that promises success.

Your Success Depends on More Than Just Good Beer

The mark of a great brewery starts with great beer. However, brewing great beer is only the tip of the iceberg when it comes to appealing to your customers. You’ll need to take everything into consideration from the floor plan to whether you’re planning on offering food.

The decor is also an important part of creating a positive experience for your customers. Choose decor that makes people feel comfortable and at ease, and ultimately reflects your brewery’s brand mission.

Lastly, the staff you choose will be a huge part of the success of your business. A great staff that cares about your customers as much as you do is the key to happy clients!
